The best Asian American children's book ever!, May 4, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Children of Asian America (Hardcover)
Can't emphasize enough how much this book meant to me. The stories eloquently explore the diversity within our Asian American community and the photographs show regular, everyday, Asian American children as normal kids, not exoticized creatures in traditional garb. Every story in this book was one that my friends and I could relate to and wish we'd had when we were children. This book really tells it like it is about what it is to be Asian American. Some people might find it uncomfortable to read about Asian American kids who aren't just shy and retiring but who think, feel, and act, like all kids. As college students, my friends and I loved this book and we think you will, too.
