5.0 out of 5 stars "Cute......Happy.....Educational Too".... June 23, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I downloaded this book for my little niece, she loved it and I am sure we will be reading this one many times...The illustrations are cute, bright and colorful..Looked really nice on her kindle...Sweet and happy story about a little boy looking for friends..It shows that sometimes it's not easy to make friends but to never to give up....It becomes educational along Terry's journey to find a friend when the animals he meets are all busy doing something important, such as: "Shelly the Sheep" was knitting and couldn't be his friend.....My niece wanted to know why the sheep was knitting and I explained to her this is where we get wool to make our clothes from.....So, every animal the little boy, Terry meets in the pictures are teaching children the importance of what they do in their "life"...

Of course, the cutest animal she loved was "Kitty", who was crying and stuck in a treetop...Terry is the best tree climber..Will he finally find a friend after all....

For toddlers or preschoolers....

I love the pictures in this children's storybook. They are bright and colorful and I like Terry's patched up pants and shirt. This is a cute story book and the text flows easily when read aloud. Terry does a heroic deed at the end winning him the friends he has been seeking.

The only reason I liked this book instead "loving" it was I thought that Terry could have made more of an effort from the very beginning to be a friend. He passes all these animals who are hard at work hoping one of them will come to his new tree house to play. Not once does he offer to help them which seemed like the logical way to make a new friend.

When reading picture books I prefer to have pictures on the screen at all times to hold children's interest. All the pictures in this story are square and then the text appears below the picture. This works fine when there is limited text but there are several times when the amount of text if too long so it flows onto the next page leaving only a bunch of text to be read.

I received a review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Honest Encouragement for Children October 10, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
When raising a child there are so many morals and values we try to instill. Throughout our daily lives, as we interact with each other, we are showing our children how to behave. They roll play and imitate our every move. Therefore, we need to be sure to expose them to positive and constructive situations and experiences.

Terry Treetop Finds New Friends is a book which allows your child to step into the life of Terry and learn with him. In this Ebook they learn the importance of being self motivated and how not to give up. Children (and us adults!) easily become discouraged when things get hard. Terry shows our children the importance of persistence.

My daughter loved reading this book with me. The colorful pages and bold pictures made her excited with every turn of the page. She loves pointing to the pictures and telling me what she saw.

This is a fun and easy to read book, but most importantly, it has a wonderful lesson for your little one to learn.

3.0 out of 5 stars Terry Treetop August 24, 2013
By Meganne

I bought this to read to my 5 year old grandson. He liked it, but not enough to want to hear it again. I use that as a measure of what an interesting book would be to him. Wouldn't buy it again or any other in the series. Perhaps it would appeal more to a younger child.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute Read For A Beginner Reader! February 3, 2015
By anne

I feel this children's book can teach your child not to give up hope and to keep on trucking even when things don't always go the way they want. Terry Treetop keeps a great attitude throughout his adventure which, I think, is a great role model! The illustrations are bright and colorful which I think will keep a child's attention completely.
I do feel that this book would best fit a beginner reader!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another adorable book by Tami Carmi January 25, 2015
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Like other Terry Treetop books, this one was adorable. He is lonely and wants to find friends, and so the adventure begins again. These books are perfect for younger kids because they teach valuing friendship. At some point I think all kids have a point when they just need a friend, and with this book they could relate. This one was a little longer than the last one I read, but still not too long to hold a child's attention. I would definitely recommend these books.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay Book With No Friendship Lesson July 8, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I work with special needs kids. Social issues are something I deal with on a daily basis. When I was contacted to review this book I was really excited.

After downloading the book on my Kindle app, I sat down with one of my kids and started to read. The format was okay. On the upper middle of the page was a square illustration. It was small but did it's job. The illustrator was very creative and the kids loved looking at the illustration. As I began to read and then turn the page, there was nothing but text. This was a little disturbing. Basically the app ran out of space and had to finish the text on the following page. I would suggest that the book be re-formatted or more of the adorable illustrations be added.

As for the story line, it was okay. It is about a boy named Terry. Terry wants to find friends to share his treehouse with. Terry sets out but one after another they are all way to busy doing chores or activities. Finally sad as can be, Terry heads home. On his way home, he sees his fellow kitty stuck in a tree. Only after he climbs the tree and rescues the kitty, does everyone play with him.

The lesson really bothered me. What I got from it, was that if you do something for your friends, they will want you otherwise you are a loner. I think friendship should be two ways. For example Terry should have offered to collect the eggs to help speed up the chores before heading back to the tree house together.

This book is not a total loss. As I read it to my kids, I actually ask them what should have been done. This is an okay book and the price is right. If you are looking for a cute book I would say go for it but if you are looking for a book to each a lesson on friendship then this is not right for you.
