5.0 out of 5 stars 16 years later its still in my list of top ten best ever !, October 2, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Children with Emerald Eyes (Mass Market Paperback)
I first read this book when I was 13...I liked it so much...I didn't return it to my school library for months....then I finally went out and bought a copy. The subject matter isn't something I would normally be interested in....I know no one who is autistic or schizophrenic but for some reason I read it and it is a truly unforgettable book. Mira Rothenberg has an amazing talent to make you care. This book brought me to tears many times and still 16 years later I still find myself thinking about it sometimes and being moved all over again. I would definitely put this near the top of my best ever list.

Mira Rothenberg worked with childreen labelled "schizophrenic" without any prior knowlege of psychiatry. But she used to understand them far better than most psychiatrists do. Any person involved with so-called "schizophrenic" persons should read this excellent book.
