This is one you want on your bookshelf,

This parable is very interesting to my 6 year old daughter, and it spoke to me as well. The end of the story made my daughter ask questions that enabled us to discuss the deeper meaning behind the parable. The "moral" of the story is a very important and valuable lesson for all!

Someone sent this book to my children when I was studying Chinese in China and feeling like I was a nobody. I am not an emotional person, but I was weeping by the end. This sweet book really made a difference in the way I thought about what's important (not what you do, but who you are). I used this book in 2003 teaching drama to orphans in Cambodia with great success, so it is a transcultural allegory too!

Max Lucado has a gift for writing for children! His books encourage a child's mind to reach further in Christ's direction. Sometimes we don't realize just how much God is using us to achieve His purpose for our children's lives. A great teaching tool for young and old alike.
