As a child (gifted, and born in 1939) I had the pleasure of reading this book in 1943. I never forgot it. For many years after that, I tried to locate a copy, so as to have an opportunity to read it to my children. It was not until the advent of the Internet System, that I was able to find (and buy) several copies, which I have since passed on to various friends and family.

I have no doubt but that my granddaughter will be equally rapt in this story, as was I.
