Product Description

In 1964 segregation is a reality in Catesville, Mississippi, but 12-year-old Rachel doesn’t notice it because she has many white friends. When a group of civil rights activists comes to town, the tension between black and white citizens grows. 3.0 out of 5 stars Typical PBS stuff but soft intro to racism, November 14, 1999
By A Customer
If I wanted to introduce a young child to racism, I wouldn't start off with "Rosewood" "Amistad" or "Beloved" (although my toddler has been with me to two of them). This is a tame afterschool-special-like treatment of racism in the South. Good for showing at school or to young children.

I first saw this movie when I was about six or seven years old. It gave me my first glimpse of the Civil Rights Movement.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Plot
I rather enjoy movies with an historical twist, particularly African American films. Danny Glover and Denise Nicholas did a fantastic job together on this one. Very good!
