Editorial Reviews

In 1964 segregation is a reality in Catesville, Mississippi, but 12-year-old Rachel doesn’t notice it because she has many white friends. When a group of civil rights activists comes to town, the tension between black and white citizens grows. It’s now up to Rachel and her friends to persuade the adults to overcome the racial barriers that divide them.

I first saw this movie when I was about six or seven years old. It gave me my first glimpse of the Civil Rights Movement.

i wasnt born when all the separation between people began, and i dont know all what happened to the people that tryed to fight for rights, but this movie gives you a small idea of the problems back then.i have been trying to track down this classic wonder works program since it was on tv 20 years ago.another fav of mine, although not long enough right around an hour it was originally aired as an after school special on the program wonder works.it has a couple of known actors that youll recognize.its a good show everyone should check it out.

I rather enjoy movies with an historical twist, particularly African American films. Danny Glover and Denise Nicholas did a fantastic job together on this one. Very good!
