5.0 out of 5 stars So good that I donated a copy to the school!, January 25, 2008

"Children and Youth With Asperger Syndrome" (by Brenda Smith Myles) is the best book that I've purchased yet for addressing an AS child's educational needs in school. I have her other books, and Tony Attwood's, etc, etc, but I found this one to be the most helpful for understanding what accommodations & modifications would be most beneficial to my son in an inclusion setting. It helped me put together a wish list of accommodations & modifications for my son's IEP and we wound up getting the majority of them. Quite frankly, the school should have known that these things were needed and we shouldn't have been struggling with them for the past 5 years to get them to assess and help him, but at least he's getting the help now. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a child with Asperger's Syndrome in a public school. It's well worth the $.

Great book on Asperger Syndrome. I read it for a class, but very helpful to identify behaviors. Also suggested strategies that could be used for children with this disorder.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent resource, June 21, 2009
This review is from: Children and Youth With Asperger Syndrome: Strategies for Success in Inclusive Settings (Paperback)
The techniques described in this book can be helpful for many students, not just those with asperger or autism. It covers a wide range of helpful strategies, and the descriptions help the reader understand the child with asperger better as well. This is a must-read for educators. It focuses on school-related skills and strategies; parents should read it so they can help guide their child's teachers, but they will need to seek additional resources to help with home issues.

The book is clearly written and well-designed, with very helpful illustrations.
