both my kids saved half of the money in high school to purchase their macsbooks and I paid the rest, one was willing to go with an Apple refurbished and her's was half the price. If they can save the funds then I say yes.

Hah. I'm 14 and I know SO many (spoiled) people my age with Macbook Pros. I'm totally fine with the desktop I built myself.

yep, last summer. It was actually quite easy. I had no idea that Amazon sold so many computer components. It's especially good for PC gaming.

They should not buy it at all. They don't need that expensive of a computer. The only use for a Macbook is as a status symbol.
