Teach Your Kids To Brush Their Teeth's

Big Bad Bacteria Song:

Bacteria Joe came to check my teeth last night,
He smelled leftover chocolate, what a delight!
When he started to dig in my tooth I felt pain,
Now I won't forget about tooth-brushing again.

Teaching children to be consistent about dental hygiene can be a challenge. I hope that this catchy rhythmic story will contribute to your efforts. Enjoy!

Sigal Adler did it again. She presented an important message for children with humor. I can envision every child rushing to get his or her toothbrush after reading this. The illustrations are wonderful, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars BACTERIA JOE, OH NO! March 30, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have read several of Sigal Adler's books;I think this is the best book that Adler has written so far. A sweet young boy, who tries to be good goes to bed one night too tired to brush his teeth. Bacteria Joe promptly arrives on the scene because the boy has just eaten one of his favorite sweets, chocolate. Joe invites his friends and they have a party in the boy's mouth putting pressure on one of his teeth and digging down deep. The boy wakes up with a pain in his tooth and hurries to get up and brush his teeth.

The rhymes are catchy and clever; the illustrations are brilliantly done to portray exactly what bacteria can do to damage teeth. Ever since that night, the boy remembers to brush his teeth to prevent tooth decay. Any parent who has ever had a battle with a child to brush his teeth will want to check out this book. I would heartily recommend that dentists place it on their office reading racks and that teachers consider using it as part of their health curriculum in the early grades. The book gets its point across in an easy to understand non-threatening way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great work :) March 14, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Sigal is a great children's writer and this book illustrates that fact beautifully. She combines wonderful art with terrific rhymes and a message that is easy even for children to understand, in this case how important it is to brush our teeth. My collection of Sigal's books (both paid and free from the author in return for an honest review as this one was) is growing and it is wonderful to be a part of something this special.

Modern equivalent of Dr. Seuss or Maurice Sendak this woman is a genius. My little one loves her books and hopped right up to brush her teeth after finishing this story. We've throughly enjoyed four of her books and are starting to see a trend. With four older children and an elementary teaching degree I've read more than a few children's books, I like a book with a message, I miss books that taught values, until Sigal Adler. Reading should be fun, but learning about caring for oneself can not come too early. Her books achieve both, and the images are very bright and many colored to grab attention of busy little people. The rhymes are quite cute for quoting, an early step in the reading process

When kids see the creepy monsters destroying their teeth after eating sugar it creates an impression in their minds that they won't easily forget. I totally loved the colorful illustrations! Every kid should be thinking "I never miss a day. I brush morning and night, To prevent tooth decay". If you want to avoid costly visits to the dentist get this book for your kids now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprised! March 27, 2014
By Wayniac

I was not impressed with the artwork in this book. "A Golden Book" this aint.
That said, im giving it 5 stars for one reason... since reading this book to my 5 year old daughter, I don't think she has missed a teeth brushing yet! I used to have to fight her tooth and nail (pun intended) to get her to brush. Now I cant get her to bed without brushing. She tells me she does NOT want any bacteria to get on her teeth! So, thank you Sigal Adler for this little gem.

Childrens books need more creativity than is found here. The illustrations are very bad and boring. I could find nothing to help engage a child with the story.
