Book Description

Review: Rocket Boy ebooks by Joy Findlay "are wonderfully presented books, utilising some of the most awesome astro-stock images to teach these beginning concepts to the smallest star gazers of them all.  The colours are bright and cheerful, the pictures are fascinating and eye catching, if you're looking for something to get your daughters and sons into space, this is an awesome start!" ~  By ValHallen 1200mm Astronomy Blog

Editorial Reviews

About the Author

"As a fulltime mother of two gorgeous pre-schoolers, a career in Television and Video Production was no longer an option. Having taught the basics of the Moving Image, it was just a matter of transitioning those same skills over to a static medium that was creative and flexible enough to work from home.
Kiki (3) and Zoozoo (4) provide the inspiration and direction for most of the children's eBooks created under Findlay Books. Their thirst for learning and adventure never ceases to amaze me.
So now, I write and illustrate a line of children's eBooks especially for my two squidlettes. In the hopes that others actually like them too and would like to let me know, we have set up a website findlaybooks.com and a facebook page facebook.com/findlaybooks for you to peruse. "

Joy Findlay lives in beautiful New Zealand with her husband, her two children and their rescue cat 'Buddy'.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre Introduction to the Solar System January 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The solar system is presented in a very disorganized way, which makes this book rather confusing. All I see are a bunch of images jumbled together.

BTW, ForeverReading doesn't need to be so upset. NASA is credited at the end of the book. Besides, all of these pictures are paid for by American taxpayers. In fact, most publications created by the US government are copyright free (I don't think NASA images are exceptions).

Given the sheer beauty of NASA imagery, I think the author could have made better use of these photos. I hope the author's other books have a better structure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rocket Boy rocks. January 23, 2013

As I have stated in my other Rocket Boy reviews, this is a fantastic series that has become a regular go-to for bedtime. So as not to be redundant, I will just say, see my other reviews for this series of wonderful books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Out of This World September 29, 2012

This is a great learning adventure. Rocket Boy should team up with Christine Joyce of CJ's Awesome Adventures to teach kids about space and other science projects. Teaching children through reading adventures is a great way to trick them into learning things.
