Review

This is the kind of cute little tale preschoolers will want to enjoy for years. I really do recommend this to be added to your child's or grand-child's library; you will be richly rewarded with hugs and kisses every time you read it to them! - Reviewed by Lee Ashford for Readers Favorite

From the Author

I originally got the idea of writing my first children's book while I was hanging out with my young nieces one day. We wondered why my newly-adopted little dachshund Lucci (pronounced loochy) never gave smoochies, and I started rhyming verses while sketching the beginning pages of the children's picture book, LUCCI- THE NO SMOOCHIE POOCHIE.

We had a ball, and I later finished the story and illustrations and had the book printed and bound just as it is available now, as well as in Kindle eBook format here on Amazon.Com.

LUCCI THE NO SMOOCHIE POOCHIE is a cute little story that I hope you and the kids in your life will enjoy. It's perfect for bedtime, and I give advance thanks for your taking the time to read it!

LUCCI-The No Smoochie Poochie is an adorable little childrens book which sends out the message of patience and love. Lucci is a dog who is not very friendly towards his owners. The owners try to show Lucci love through hugs and kisses and Lucci rejects the affections each time. Eventually Lucci comes around and returns the affection of the patient owners. LUCCI-The No Smoochie Poochie is just right for your young children who are learning the values of patience and understanding the concept of love. Love is lived out in patience and LUCCI does a wonderful job of displaying and explaining this concept in a fun manner.

The images in LUCCI-The No Smoochie Poochie are very simple yet springs to life through the colors. I believe that the simple drawing style used here will encourage your children in creating like characters of thier own.

*Children's*

Lucci is a dog who enjoys all of the other things dogs do, belly rubs, scratching behind the ears, running, playing. He doesn't enjoy one thing most dogs do though... smooches. The family tries everything but Lucci won't give in.

This is a delightful story and perfect for younger children. The rhyming of it will help the story stick once it's finished. I'm positive this will become a favorite of your children too. We all loved it here! Our older dog, Buddy, was a lot like Lucci. Make this a gift of reading for your youngster whether they are reading yet or not!

I found no issues here.

I gave this one 5 out of 5 books because it's a topic kids love... DOGS!

This is a cute story about a bashful dog. Lucci doesn't want hugs and kisses so the family lets him have some space. Nice story to help kids understand that some animals need to be treated different.

Very sweet poem about a dog who doesn't give smoochies until the family shows him months and months of love. The illustrations are in the style of children's drawings, with some collages of the author's nieces and nephews photos. The overall feel is of a family keepsake that the author has shared; we really enjoyed this as a bedtime read.

I downloaded this picture book for free this evening to read with my 5 year old at bedtime. The story is definitely cute, seeing the family crave the affection of their newly adopted pup, Lucci. My son enjoyed the drawings and pointed out the dogs on each page as I read to him. The rhymes flowed well and it was just the right length for a bedtime story.

This might not read so well on a regular Kindle, as the photos are in color.

Lucci The No Smoochie Poochie is an adorable children's story. It's about a dog that won't cuddle or love on anyone. The author describes all the different dogs pretty well. The illustrations look like a child drew them, and left a lot to be desired. The name "Lucci" was always written on the dog, even when you could obviously tell it was Lucci. The book doesn't really have much of a moral lesson, which I always look for in children's books. The only lesson I could possibly see it giving is if you ignore animals, they will start to like you. While most of the time that's true, it isn't a very good lesson for children. I would recommend Lucci to parents looking for a cute quick bedtime story for their kids.

My 7 year-old daughter Zoe says her favorite thing about this book is that Lucci is kind of like her with not wanting smoochies, plus there's a co-starring dog named Zoe! This story is right up her alley.

Donna L. Sadd's sweet picture book is perfect for little ones to read either in print or on Kindle. It looks great on my Kindle fire. Zoe's reading it out loud for the 2nd time, in fact, beside me as I type.

If you have a little reader, whether they like smoochies or not, pick up a copy of this book. It's perfect to add to your kids' reading collection.
