This is a delightful story that will reassure the little ones in your life (ages 2 - 5) about going to daycare. Thought it was really cute that Jimmy, a rabbit, was able to take teddy with him! And, his entire family helped encourage him. He could play or paint and had a wonderful time.

In addition, the drawings are adorable and your children will enjoy them as they are colorful, too.

Most highly recommended.

Author Shelley Admont is joined by illustrators Sonal Goyal and Sumot Sakhuja in creating this richly colorful, entertaining and message bearing children's book.

Jimmy (a little bunny) lies awake hugging his teddy bear, worrying about the next day and going to his first day at Daycare. He goes downstairs to share his anxiety with his parents, both of whom are supportive and reassuring that Daycare is a fun place to play and enjoy friends. Having been told that he will only have to stay two hours AND that he can take his teddy bear with him, Jimmy is off to bed to sleep. No sooner was he asleep than he heard a voice - his teddy bear was talking to him about getting to go to daycare together. In the morning his two older brothers envy his first day at Daycare. Jimmy prepares, takes his teddy bear with him and off he goes with his mother to Daycare - where he finds everyone having a wonderful time making sandwiches and playing all manner of games. He spends his two hours, painting a flower for his mom and playing with a truck, sharing sandwiches with teddy bear, and when his mother comes to pick him up he is so excited that he asks to stay longer tomorrow - and eventually he is so secure with his new venture that he doesn't even need the accompaniment of teddy bear.

Bedtime stories such as this are not only entertaining for children but also suggest messages that `new things' may not be bad - but instead offer new opportunities to enjoy life. Very well done! Grady Harp, May 14

Young Jimmy was having trouble going to sleep, thinking about his first time in a daycare center the next day. It would be a big change for him, one he was excited about, but even though his parents and older brothers assured him he would love going to daycare, he still had reservations about it. But when his beloved teddy bear comforted Jimmy and promised him that daycare would be a lot of fun and that Teddy would be there with him, that was good enough for Jimmy. As it turned out, daycare was indeed fun, and Jimmy looked forward to returning.

With so many parents working nowadays, many kids like Jimmy are in daycare for all or part of the day. Undoubtedly, many of them are frightened at the prospect of being away from their parents for the first time. Most of them will enjoy daycare, but it's that fear of the unknown that troubles them as they think about leaving home and going to a strange place and being surrounded by strangers. Author Shelley Admont's story is good bedtime story material for reassuring youngsters that they'll like daycare and that it's nothing to be feared.

Many children go to daycare while their parents go to work. It is sometimes traumatic for the children after they have spent time at home with their families. This is a special book that every child and their families will want to read.

Jimmy was going to daycare and the night before the special day he was worried. He could not sleep, he went downstairs to talk to his parents about his fears. When you read this book you will find out how his parents calmed Jimmy, and you will learn all about daycare. The author, Shelley Admont, has voiced Jimmy's fears in words that all children will understand. The illustrations by Sonal Goyal and Sumit Sakhuja are bright and colorful with vivid descriptions of Jimmy, his family and daycare. They really help to make the daycare fun come alive. Parents/teachers will find in reading this book to their children that many discussions will open up about fears and how to overcome them. I liked this book a great deal for the lessons learned.

Bernice, Barakel and Hillary could not go to bed unless we finished reading the book. It was very interesting. They were really captivated by the sincerity, simplicity and deep imagination in this book. Thank you for writing this one. I am writing from Zimbabwe, Southern Africa, Mutare city.

I thought this was a great book. I read it to my 3 year old daughter and one year old son. I've been trying to prepare my daughter for when she will have to go to daycare so this was a perfect story for her. Thank you!

This book was well written . It was on a level that a young child could understand. It addressed the problems and concerns a child entering daycare may have. I liked that the whole family were very supportive.

My grandaughter loves all the Shelley Admont books we have read so far. They convey a lesson in a way the children can understand. Feelings that many of them have experienced. Good stuff.
