My dad is just completing this bed and it looks AMAZING and it will be complete for a fraction the cost of the similar model for almost $1400.Disclaimer : My dad was a carpender/furniture maker until he retired so he was more than competent to follow these instructions. I would have struggled somewhat with it. If you are at all handy and like fun projects then this one is great. Will post a photo once we have it painted.

If you've privy to a handyman then this is completely doable. It took about a day to make all the appropriate cuts and figuring out the plan mistakes (and there are a lot of them. These plans were made in China, if that gives you any clue.) So just be careful to look it over. Some of the attaching boards are given in the wrong size and needs compensated for. It took an evening to glue everything together and then a day to paint. But the bed is adorable and now a well loved addition to our little girls bedroom.Materials cost around $250, that's the hardware and using finished plywood. That's minus paint, mattresses and sheets. It's not rocket science, but it will leave you scratching your head. If you can figure the instructions out then I say go for it. Thank goodness we have an engineer residing in this household. |
