Children's Friendship Training is a welcome addition to the social skills
literature. Social isolation is a major factor in childhood depression. Cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic treatment approaches are often of great value in the treatment of childhood mood disorders. However, many treatment modalities do not address the importance of friendship formations in childhood and adolescent disorders. Frankel and Myatt offer a researched based manualized guide that can be integrated into clinical practice. I intend to use this model in my private practice.
