Over the years, our churches have become more sensitive to reaching out to families with special needs kids. I think, for the most part, many of us in ministry still struggle at times with how to effectively reach these kids, while at the same time, how to help the other children in our class to be the hands and feet of Jesus. This pocket guide is a great snapshot of several specific disorders, and gives practical, immediate help and ideas for how to react, how to structure your activities and how to help the other kids to understand the disability so they can love and befriend the special needs child. There's also a very useful questionnaire in the back of the book to have parents complete so you can be better prepared with each individual. Since these pocket guides come in packs of 10, it is a great resource to give to each leader in your ministry!
