Our children loved the look and feel of this bible. I just purchased a new one, but they've been using the one that my wife has kept since she was young. They read it and find (what my son calls) his "treasures". It is the more challenging KJV version, but I find that helping them read along increases vocabulary and understanding.

This is an excellent first bible for any child! I gave this bible to my 8 year old nephew for his birthday. It is hard for anything to hold his attention for more than a few minutes but he poured over this bible for over an hour looking at the beautiful color illustrations, special 32 page Child's Introduction and the inside covers which reflect the flora of Israel and animals as well as priestly ornaments and musical instruments. This bible also has special features that include the Ten Commandments, Lord's Prayer, Beatitudes and a Child's Dictionary and Concordance.

In a world so full of cowards scared to realize a higher power for fear of their own sins, this book is a great way to combat that narrow minded thinking. By giving our children this gift at a young age, we can assure them their salvation and thus take the most important step in parenting. This book does a great job at portraying complicated stories and making them interesting for kids. This is a gift that we all owe our children. Buy this book.
