Beautiful, such a joy to read!,

This review is from: Children's Special Places: Exploring the Role of Forts, Dens, and Bush Houses in Middle Childhood (The Child in the City Series) (Child and the City) (Paperback)
Reading this book conjures up cherished childhood memories of my own special places. I had almost forgotten some of the little things and places that meant so much to me. I was truly inspired to encourage the same in my 10-year-old. I've unplugged him from the Playstation and directed him outside, even though it's cold out. We granted him access to some old building materials and tools, and stayed out of the way for him to create his own memories.

This book is actually a reasearch paper or thesis. Found it interesting that kids from all over the world have the same 'need' to bound with nature. Learned some 'technical , psychological' information in the area of child development. Would recommend you read this and Last CHild in The Woods.
