Perfect travel journal for young kids,

My daughter is delighted with this journal. It prompts a child to write about things they may not have thought about. It contains a lot of the same information that adult travel journals contain (e.g. record of expenses), but in a kid-friendly format with illustrations. I think it will be a great thing for keeping my daughter busy on the plane ride.

Perfect combination of prompted writing and free space. If your child loves to draw or has pictures to paste in it, you can nearly make a scrapbook out of it and it will be a treasured keepsake later of a big trip. My child has little interest in drawing, but readily filled in the blanks and wrote about what he saw. Good find! Recommend for ages 6-12 or 13.

Great travel journal for my 8-year-old,

My daughter has enjoyed working on this before the trip--coloring it, making maps and filling out the lists. I think the daily prompts are going to help to create a great keepsake to look back on from our trip to China. However, this journal seemed a bit too hard for her 5-year-old brother to use, so I bought a different one for him. This would be best for kids 8 and up.

Perfect journal for the right trip and the right kid,

I bought two of these for my girls, aged 7 and 9, for a once-in-a-childhood trip to the Mediterranean. The pages are heavy cardstock and spiral bound, so they lay flat without holding them down. The girls like the doodle-type drawings to color and the little phrases that give them ideas for what to journal. I especially liked the first few pages that we did together at home, including an itinerary and other plans, which sparked discussion about our expectations.
I would recommend this journal for longer trips to far-away places and for children who enjoy reading and writing creatively.

I first saw this Children's Travel Journal in a high-priced book catalog. I wanted it, but the cost was a little much. What to do? Look it up on Amazon, of course. This journal is great because everybody in the family can contribute to its contents. Pages to draw on, places to record the best and the worst of your trip are available in this spiral bound book. My kids and I save our ticket stubs, site maps, unusual tidbits (we have multicolored drink stirrers from the famous Peabody Hotel in Memphis) and we can store it in this informal memory book where anything goes. I can't wait to start filling it up on our next trip.
