A wonderful fireside/bedtime book,

If you are looking for a good set of stories to read to your children, look no further! This is a collection of 3 other titles edited by Bill Bennett, and illustrated by the phenomenal Michael Hague. The stories are a good length for reading to young squirrly children, and are well written. They are heroic and thoughtful. This edition would also make a welcome gift for a family you care about.

I bought this book for my 5 and 3 years old children and we all enjoy this book very much. The stories, though mostly well known tales, are written well and can be read out loud nicely. They vary in lengths (from short poems to stories several pages long), and they also vary in their complexity suitable for children of various ages. Illustrations are on every page. All the stories end on a positive note. They teach children about perseverence, love, honor, and justice. This is a welcome addition to our huge collection of children's stories.

This book is a beautiful source of morality tales for young children. It has full color illustrations on every page. It's stories range from poems of just a few lines to longer tales several pages long. My five year old really enjoys listening and looking at the lovely pictures at bedtime.
The stories all illustrate a virtue or value, and make wonderful springboards into discussions about right and wrong.

This is an excellent book for kids and adults alike. As I read these stories to my children, I begin to remember having heard them when I was small. The stories are well written and beautifully illustrated. This book is a combination of three other books edited by Dr. William Bennett, the former Secretary of Education and popular talk show host. I highly recommend this book for anyone with children (or planning to have children).

I love reading some of the stories to my 4 year old. Some stories are very good but some I don't find it appropriate to read to my 5 year old.

Great compilation of virtues that are somehat overlooked today. I read these to my son at bedtime and alternate with many good book collections. He now reads this and other books on his own.

The Grandkids love picking a story, and I like it has both Truth with teaching stories and pretend for their imaginations.

to my children. But they seem to prefer other books. They mostly enjoy the time we spend together reading. Perhaps the stories themselves may yeild fruit for them sometime down the road. I'm glad I bought it and read it with my children.
