The weakest of the series but not without some redeming qualities such as gory special effects, some " Full Metal Jacket" in-jokes, and Chucky getting his face sliced off to look like Pizza without cheese.

The DVD is definitely sharp looking in picture and sound quality with no extras at all, it's definitely an alright entry in the Chucky saga.

4.0 out of 5 stars Will it be 3 strikes and you're out for Chucky?, December 15, 2001

Andy, the boy that the evil "Good Guy" has always terrorized, is a teenager now. After enrolling in a military school and beginning to experience the downsides of being the new kid in town, the last thing Andy needs is to be reminded of his horrible past (Chucky). The last thing Andy would want to hear about is Chucky, but Chucky sure is dying to hear from Andy.

Ever since I was a kid, I've always been a major fan of the "Child's Play" movies. Unlike many people, I like the first three films in the saga. I don't really want to say it, but "Child's Play 3" isn't quite as good as the first two movies in this classic horror series, but it's certainly not far behind.

In "Child's Play 3," there are still tons of blood baths that all have Chucky's name on them, and almost everything else about the film is well done. The acting is good enough, the special effects aren't bad, and the movie itself is suspenseful, and it never gets boring. However, as great as it is, it's just doesn't quite live up to the greatness of its two predecessors. I guess the main reason I think that, is because the killings don't seem to be as exciting and the movie itself isn't as scary as the other two.

If you're a fan of the first two movies in the series or if you like the classic kinds of horror films in which killing sprees are the name of the game, I recommend adding "Child's Play 3" to your collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST OF THE SERIES!, October 7, 2002

This review is from: Child's Play 3 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Those movie critics are really dumb for hating this movie.Oh,you say this movie is unwatchable, but you think the Bear is something worth watching.Forget what the movie critics tell you.Don't listen to what they say.See something that you want to see,not something someone else wants you to see.

With that out of the way, this movie was the best out of all the Chucky movies. It even has some really funny parts in it too.The movie has alot of bloody death scenes(one being the garbage truck scene). This movie is really good from beginning to end.If you like scary movies, then you need to see this movie. It is great.

Peace Out.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING, WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE!!!!, June 18, 1999

The entire Childs Play series have got to be the best Horror-Comedy films ever made. Chucky, a possessed doll has all the style that gives these films their own unique class. They are a must-see collection, and the latest installment, 'Bride of Chucky' continues the amazingly well-written story-line. I saw Childs Play when I was only 7 years old, back in 1988, and from then on, I have been a Childs Play fanatic! When you see the films, you will always believe Chucky's promise 'I'll Be Your Friend To The End', because you will never forget the most evil look in his eves for as long as you live!

2.0 out of 5 stars Too Little, Too Soon, December 10, 2007
This review is from: Child's Play 3 (DVD)
Don Mancini (creator) has stated that this entry in the Child's Play series came too soon after the release of the second entry and was demanded by the studio (it was released only nine months after the second)that he really had no fresh ideas to give to the series. And to me, it was obvious.

The factory where Chucky was created is up and running ten years after the last Andy / Chucky dilemma. The Good Guy dolls are being created again, and during the creation Chucky's blood is luckily still going ten years later and is mixed into the melted plastic used to create the dolls; therefore he is reborn. Proof #153 that this film was rushed: Plot Holes. They don't stop there, but I won't continue going on with them.

Casting is another obvious reason. Justin Whalin takes the place of Alex Vincent as Andy. Vincent was stated as not wanting to come back for another film so the writers / producers / whoever decided to go ten years into the future with a 16 year old Andy (just only nine months after the second is released and Andy is six years old, mind you). Aside from a few "eh" moments, Justin Whalin is the only one in the cast you remotely care for or want to see.

Brad Dourif delivers Chucky's lines with total awareness, and this is where Chucky's one-liners begin to be even better. This is sort of where he be comes the anti-hero as we love him and want more from him than we do of the protagonists. And that's exactly where the fourth entry takes us.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't F**k With Chuck, June 13, 2006
This review is from: Child's Play 3 (DVD)
This film may be the weakest of the series, but it's still great! Andy Barclay is all growed up now (well 16) and has been sent to Military school. He's still haunted by his past, namely his 'Good Guy' doll Chucky.

Though Chucky can now swap bodies with someone new, this is a retread sequel. But none the less is good fun, mainly because of Chucky's mannerisms and one-liners.

Taking place at a Military school and a ghost-train type fairground ride, this film has a gothic feel to it. Not a lot of gore but then that's not what this series is about, but Chucky himself takes quite a kicking!

Kevin Yagher who usually oversees the puppet work, doesn't do it directly this time, and the film does suffer slightly because of this.

I don't really understand the criticism of this film. Yes it's the weakest of the series but if you think of the 'Elm Street', 'Friday The 13th', 'Halloween' and 'Texas Chainsaw' series, they all have some absolute abysmal sequels in there somewhere, whereas this film isn't even bad.

All-in-all a fun film, whether you're a Chucky fan or not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Retardedly Entertaining!, October 14, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Child's Play 3 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This remains my least favorite chucky film, but, I tturn up seeing this one more than the other three, let's face it, it isn't shakesphere, but just good ol' late 80s, early 90's horror. Cjild's Play is a classic and has good acting, ingeious storytelling, and full of fun, Child's Play 2 is more focused on Chucky and his dark humor, Child's Play 4 (aka Bride of Chucky) has the most interesting story since part 1, but part 3 is nothing but a gore-fest, which is what these films mostly are, and Child's Play 3 delivers comedy, some pop-out moments (which aren't all that scary), action, adventure, and peril. There is some good acting, like when the paintball games begin, but as said in earlier reviews, why see this movie for good acting?

Chucky 3 is the best chucky ever made it is as good as the second, in this one Andy Barclay is played by Justin Whalin where andy is sent to military camp and chucky is there, at the camp Chucky meets a new friend but Andy tried to stop him. But i am a true chucky fan and I think this one is the best one ever made.
