WOW! What an amazing book! If you are looking for guidance, support, understanding, encouragement or just someone who has REALLY been there, Joyce Schneider and this book are for you!! You won't get a one way ticket to guilt island, just a real life person willing to share her past and life experiences and ultimately a "recipe" for a sweeter life than you could have ever dreamed possible! Thank you Joyce for not being ashamed to tell your story! It inspires me to empty my dark closet of secrets and gives me a desire to not only seek forgiveness, but permission to forgive myself!!

Joyce is a living testimony of what God can do and wants to do in our lives. She was willing to give it ALL to God and in return she now has the freedom we all strive for!! Lets all take a lesson from Joyce and put our complete TRUST IN GOD and let God heal us from our past!!!! Great book Joyce!!!!

Joyce has a way of inviting you into her world, opening doors both for healing and growth in a personal way. It's like meeting a new friend and becoming intimately close in a matter of chapters.

Not only do you get to meet Joyce, she introduces you to the love of her life and offers Him to you as well ... not her husband, HER GOD! Joyce makes it plain that GOD is the center of her healing, her life and her world.

God's Blessings flow through her writing and into her life. I enjoyed it so much!

When I first saw the title, Chili and Chocolate Cake and realized the meaning behind it (Sunday church nights) I became familiar with my own special place I have in my church and particularly the church I grew up in. The book is not only a pure and honest account of the authors life, but it brought us readers drawn to the innocence of the author and her wanting to share her spritual growth and her path that took her there. This book is great for young teens, kids going off to college, and parents to understand and find their own spiritual path.

I love the fact that the author, Joyce, uses her life in a way that touches your heart and brings you to see God through her eyes and her heart. She is vulnerable and yet so strong, as she experiences God through her everyday experiences. God has definitely used her to communicate His love to all of us. A great read!

You can't help but feel personally connected with Joyce Schneider while reading this. Here's an "ordinary" woman making extraordinary strides as a Christian. She has a sincere and engaging way of showing us what God can do to heal all hurts. My heartfelt thanks to Joyce for sharing her inner-most thoughts and feelings. I'm hooked and can't wait to read more by Joyce.

I found Joyce's book to be a testament on how to take our issues to the Lord and let Him help us when the times are tough. Joyce tells her story and it is like you are sitting there listening to her tell it. Like how you do with a friend, talk of a topic, go to another and then if you feel like you need to talk more about the first one, you go back to it. It isn't a "I'm healed" from my pain book, but a book that shows how it may take some time and also that it will always be a work in progress. Thanks for a view in your life Joyce.

This book is amazing! It's like sitting in your living room with your best friend having the most awesome conversation. God has most certainly touched Joyce's life and He has gifted her with the ability to share her stories with us. I not only highly recommend this book, I strongly advise everyone to read this book! It's not just for women either, men will enjoy this as well. Yes you do need a box of tissues at some points but what's a good story without some tears? Joyce is an amazing author and I look forward to reading many more books from her in the future!

When I picked up the book Chili and Chocolate Cake, it was only a matter of a few hours before I finished it. I read it from cover to cover one Friday morning, simply because I could not put it down, with the exception of sobbing breaks I had to take, and wiping the tears from my eyes so that I could continue reading. This story is one of truth and restoration. We overcome by the power of our testimony. The author is very transparent in sharing her past hurts, and struggles, in a way that is truly a blessing to women who have been in the same or very similar situation. After reading her book, it allowed me to see and deal with some of my own past hurts, and things in my past that I simply buried and tried to forget. I am so grateful that she allowed us to experience a part of her life through the writing or this book, that will enable every reader to learn, know, and understand how to trust God in every situation. This book can help, and encourage even the youngest readers. I would highly recommend it to all.

This book has forever blessed my life! Not only can I personally relate to so many of the topics that Joyce talks about, it truly ministered to me in so many areas that I had "swept under the carpet". Healing through the Word of God is the key to living a life FULL of peace and joy...and this book walks you through that. So many times, we tend to turn to things or to people to try and fill the "holes" that we have created...but there is ONE who will take you in His loving arms and make you feel complete...like no other can. Joyce, thank you so much for sharing the words that God has given you. Your book has helped me in more ways than I can ever tell you!!
