5.0 out of 5 stars This is full of great recipes that will give you years worth of meals.
Chili is a winner in our house! One of the best recipe books I have on Chile - I picked up a couple of Chili recipe books recently on Amazon, and I am quite impressed with this one too. This is full of great recipes that will give you years worth of meals.

Its clear, to the point and just plain full of tremendous meals that you and your family will enjoy...

3.0 out of 5 stars Lots, and lots of Chili!
A very useful and very large amount of good chili recipes - however there is no fun filler, no stories about Spain, etc. Sometimes I find it more fun to read the history of peppers than only recipes.

Chili is a winner in our house! One of the best recipe books I have on Chile - I picked up a couple of Chili recipe books recently on Amazon, and I am quite impressed with this one too. This is full of great recipes that will give you years worth of meals.

Its clear, to the point and just plain full of tremendous meals that you and your family will enjoy for years and years. There are over 300 different chili dishes, and that does not include the ideas you will get for experimenting and creating your own.

That is one side benefit to this book, and other books that are filled with various ways to make one dish, is the fact that they will give you so many ideas to create different flavors, in not just chili, but in other meals, that it makes having this book a great resource.

So, bottom line, if you just want lots and lots of different GREAT chili's this is a great book, - OR if you like to experiment and invent your own meals, this book will offer you great new ideas on
how to create one taste after another.

Either way, its a great deal!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing Cook about Chili - Maria makes it Hot!, September 5, 2009
By
This review is from: Chili Lover's Chili Cookbook! (Paperback)
Are you a chili lover? If you are, then you are going to love Maria's Chili! Inside you'll find every imaginable version of Columbo's favorite dish, chili. There's chilies with beans and without, with meat and without, vegetarian chilies, and low-fat options on the classic dish that so many of us Americans love.

There are so many, and so far all are good, each member of my family has a different favorite, but we all agreed that each was great, and we only wanted to try more. With winder coming it look like we are ready! (but we do eat chili all summer too).

Nice!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful recipes - Fantastic Meals - and lots of them!, September 4, 2009
This review is from: Chili Lover's Chili Cookbook! (Paperback)
The tradition of chili is as old as the invention of the first pot, so it is only natural that a piping-hot, rib-sticking chili is comforting in a very primal sort of way. Maria Mia Cruz takes us on a culinary voyage around the world to discover the best of comfort foods ever tasted! These over 300 recipes are the real deal: classic home food that you and your family will love. The recipes are easy to follow, the techniques are straight forward, and, most important, the rewards are plentiful and satisfying.

If you love Chili, you will love Maria's book, and never need another chili again!

1.0 out of 5 stars You call this a cookbook?, February 5, 2010

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Chili Lover's Chili Cookbook! (Paperback)
This cookbook has misspelled words, inconsistencies with how measurements were represented, no photos, nothing. It looked like someone took a bunch of recipes they found on pieces of paper and typed them up and called it a `book'. I am embarrassed to have given this as a gift. The recipient asked me to return it!

2.0 out of 5 stars A poorly executed book - in fact this isn't really a book!, January 28, 2010

First the good: There are tons of chili recipes in this book, as other reviewers have already noted. There are most probably some very good recipes. That's the only reason I gave the book 2 stars instead of 1.

Now the bad: This is not a book! There is no introduction; no index, not even any page numbers! A book without page numbers? But in a way page numbers would have been a waste of time without an index. There has been no attempt to group the recipes - they are shown in alphabetical order by first word(!!), so "Richard's Chili" comes before "Skinny Chili" comes before "World's Worst Chili Recipe" etc.

Maybe I'm being unreasonable, but how about the author spending some time to categorize the chilis in some way: Meat/poultry/vegitarian ... or by chili strength?

This is nothing more than a bound set of recipes in no order. Too bad. I sent it back for a refund.
