5.0 out of 5 stars How to really chill out...., February 14, 2004
By
This review is from: Chill Out in Paris 1 (Audio CD)
Chill Out in Paris #1 is one of the best CD sets I've ever heard. My wife and I are BIG fans of Chill AND Paris. We got our start by hearing a Buddha Bar CD about 2 years ago and we have been avid collectors ever since. Of all the Buddha Bar we've heard, Claude Challe, Ravin, Cafe del Mar, etc, Chill Out in Paris #1 is so far better and it's the best.

Anyone can pull a song or two from various CD's to make up a fave collection, but Visan has done it on #1 better than anyone else could. Highly recommend to play it in order, rather than selecting 'random' mode to take advantage of this incredible mix and the flow from one tune to another.

Visan did well with Buddha Bar's IV and V, but learning from the master, Claude Challe has really paid off on this set.

Buy it. Go for a long drive. Play it while you're asleep.
Anytime, anywhere you listen you will be carried off to Nirvana.

5.0 out of 5 stars The disc 1 is a killer, September 23, 2003

Well I have a good collection of eclectic music and I simply have to say that the disc 1 is the best single CD ever. Take any of your friends that has ANY eclectic strain and put this one on... a killer. NEVER written an opinion before, now had to. Disc 2 is OK but not exceptional. Still, if it was blank EVERYONE MUST BUY THIS JUST FOR THE disc 1

I first heard this album 3 years ago in Portugal - the song literally stopped me in my tracks, I found the store selling CD's and bought it right away. It was almost a month before I got back home to where I could listen to it and it was well worth the wait. Even now it's still a frequent visitor to my CD player.

This CD has some very nice variations on some religious and secular themes. The ethnic vocals are well matched with modern music. It has plenty of varied textures in the musical content and the mixing is elaborate and well done. I enjoyed "Nirvana Lounge II" and would rate this CD right up there with it.

I would not consider this CD an overdone tribal, techno mix but a rather relaxing and as the name suggests- Chill Out CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Permeate and Transport, June 12, 2003

I encourage you to let this music in as deeply as possible. When you do this set will take you where you need to be. From haunting beautiful melodies to warm comfortable beats this music is a feast for the senses. Icing on this decadent cake include tracks from Nitin Sawhney and Alessandra Safina. This CD along with other Buddha Bar compilations have opened a new universe to me.

Drink it in.
