This is a nice item for having outside since it has a cover and it's easy to transport with the handle. But beware of using paprika on your eggs (which I think is pretty common) I topped mine with it and it stained the tray and still won't come off after several washed and soaks, and cleaners. Also now water has somehow gotten in the tray and I can't get it out so there is probable soapy water trapped. Just my experience with this product. I would personally try to find a different one.

THE IDEA FOR THIS ITEM IS EXCELLENT. I MAKE DEVILED EGGS FOR GET TOGETHERS FAIRLY OFTEN, AND THIS ITEM ENABLES ME TO TRANSPORT AND SERVE, WHILE KEEPING EGGS CHILLED. THE ONLY PROBLEM I FOUND, WAS THAT THE TRAY ACTRUALLY CONTAINS THE COOLING GEL, AND IT DOESN'T QUITE FIT INTO OUR FREEZER. WE HAVE A SIDE BY SIDE UPRITE FREEZER/REFRIG COMBO. WE HAD TO USE THE DOWNSTAIRS CHEST FREEZER TO FREEZE THE TRAY FOR TRANSPORTING USE. THEY MAKE SIMILAR ITEMS THAT ARE SMALLER. JUST KEEP THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS ITEM.

Works as advertised. It is a little large, holds 25 deviled eggs = 1 dozen+ hard boiled eggs, A lot of eggs to make. And an odd number. Very large for the refriderator too.
