Lacking in some vital information, April 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Chilton's Repair Manual: Toyota Corolla MR 2 Tercel 1984 90 (Chilton's Repair & Tune-Up Guides) (Paperback)
Overall the manual is not bad. However, if you're an owner of an MR2 this may not be the book for you. I think Chilton's tried craming to many cars into one book, leaving out vital information that MR2 owners need to know. For instance, say you have air trapped in your cooling system (big trouble for the MR2's sealed system). The manual shows you where the bleeders are, but no indication as to the proper method of bleeding the system. I've found that Chilton's has left out many specifics regarding the MR2. Maybe because the engine in the MR2 is the same in some Corollas they thought they would put them together. Other than engines, these cars are apples and oranges folks. You could probably get by with this manual and it does give a lot of other good information. I am unsure if Hayne's manual on the MR2 (which they have devoted a whole book to)is any better. But, that is my next purchase.
