Very pleased and well informed wannabe do-it-yourselfer., May 12, 2003
This review is from: Chilton's repair & tune-up guide--Ford, Mercury, 1968-83: Custom, Custom 500, Galaxie 500, XL, LTD through 1982, Crown Victoria, Ranch Wagon, Country ... Colony Park, Park Lane, Monterey, Commuter (Paperback)
I am an owner of a 1968 Ford Custom 500. Most of the time during my ownership, the car was my daily vehicle and I relied on others for my "baby's" repairs and upgrades. But I have since moved on, bought a new vehicle and all but forgot about my old 'boat'. Two years later, I found her where I left her and decided to fix her up. But I didn't even know how to change my oil, much less replace the brakes. End of story, I bought chilton's repair book. I am finding it easy to use and understand with clear details and numerous illustrations. It seems to be made with the novice in mind, but yet contains instructions for some of the hard stuff- engine overhaul anyone? So I feel the book has a little something for everyone. And that my money was well spent. If you are a novice or intermediate mechanic and own an old Ford ('68 to '83), this is the book for you.
