Product Description

These are the beans that bean sprouts come from! In the 1700's, Captain James Cook used sprouted bean malt to ward off the scurvy attacking his crew. Whether you're fighting scurvy or not, Chimes Organic Mung Beans are great because they're high in fiber, iron, and protein. Whether you sprout 'em or cook 'em - they'll be music for your mouth!

Wonderful whole food...I use it to make kitchari and I cant say enough good things about these beans! Esp the fact that they are whole mung beans, so all of the fiber content is still there! :)

Soak in water for a few hours; cook until it gets soft (about 45 minutes); add a little sugar and you have yourself a tasty dessert.

So far these beans have been perfect for sprouting. I think that 100% are sprouting and they are clean. Soon I will order another batch and I'll update if anything changes.

it's a rare thing if mung beans aren't in the refrigerator ready to be enjoyed and/or sprouting in this household. i soak these for 12-24 hours. then sprout for 2-3 days. great to add into salads, soups, sandwiches, share them with your animal friends, etc.

Great deal, great nutrition!! I use these for sprouting, and make delicious cold salads. Super easy, great quality for sprouts.

Rinse, soak overnight in cool water in a mason jar, drain & rinse in the morning, tie on cheese cloth, lay on its side in my kitchen with a dishtowel over the jar to minimize the light leaving the opening exposed for air circulation, rinse/drain 1 -2 times day for about 2 days, and you've got super yummy sprouted beans that keep well in the fridge for a couple days or so.

YUM!

These were disappointing... they don't work well in the kitchary I make like other mung beans I've bought. They don't seem that fresh?

I get these in the six pound thing every couple of months. I'm an old-time sprouter and just toss a 1/2c in a mason jar, soaking overnight. They sprout perfectly every time and the beans are very clean, I have never found a stone or other matter, just the slightest dust at first rinsing.

In the 2 years I have been eating Chimes brand, most every day as a vegan, I have never had any stomach problems, nor had the sprouts or soaks spoil.

Veganism is nonviolence.

They sprouted as promised. I would buy again for sure. You will not be disappointed. They taste real good, not bitter at all.
