My wife owned a cassette of this soundtrack. When I married her she asked me to find it on CD. [This was before amazon.com's new and used store I think]. [...] I also found a RARE Promo CD of the Katrina & The Waves cover song.
This CD goes with us when we travel. It's one of her Top Ten CDs.
Their are sound effects leading into some of the songs [Like the added helicopter opening to "Reflections"]. The effects don't take away from the emotions this show can bring back.

The dialogues by real Vietnam Vets is short but very emotional.

I think this could easily have been a much longer CD [and it should have]. How ironic is it that I find a Volume 2 as an Australian issue CD?
Sadly this show is not yet on DVD. There is a campaign to get it out there.

I bought this CD in 1990 (approx) by accident. I absolutely love this CD. If you are from the 60-70's you will relate to each and every track on this CD. It brings back the memories, all the sights & sounds from when we were young. The track that Dana Delany sings, 'Far from home' will tear at your heartstrings. Please give it try, you will like it. I wish the Classic radio stations would play it.

I loved the China Beach series, and I watch it every time it is on TV. I loved the theme music. The show always ended with it, and it would play at certain times during the show. The CD has NO theme music. That was the only reason I bought the China Beach CD. John Sacret Young and Artie Ripp made a big mistake by not having a lot of the theme music on the CD. The only thing that half-way saves the CD is Dana Delaney's song, "Far from Home". I am now waiting for the series to come out on DVD just so I can hear the theme music!!

If you can get your hands on this CD it is definately worth it. I loved the TV show and each time I play the CD it takes me back to each episode. Kinda like a favourite book, there is nothing boring or dull about listening to it over and over.

It is a great soundtrack, it brings back memories of songs I grew up with plus I enjoyed watching the series. I recommend to anyone of any age. You can feel in the songs in the soundtracks of what was happening if you have seen the series threw each song that is played on the soundtrack.

I loved this show and loved the soundtrack. I was thrilled to find it on CD as i had it only on cassette. Now if they would just release the series on DVD I would be set. If you were a fan of the show this is a must have.

If you enjoyed the China Beach TV series you will enjoy this CD. I love the music from that era. This CD is a reflection of that time and the music is definately a reminder of China Beach.

I give this CD only two stars because the description of the music in the ad -- and the remarks of the reviewers -- led me to believe this was the soundtrack to the the series China Beach. It is not. There are only one or two originals here, and one surprising one by John Lennon, the rest are covers. The fine print says "By various artists" but I didn't see it. I liked the sound fx and I especially liked the real person remarks; Delany's song was excellent. All the tunes and bits are very short, tho. This disc is not cut from the original episodes. This disc is not from the soundtrack. Very disappointing. I doubt I will listen to it again.
The vendor was A+ in dealing with. I don't blame the vendor for the rip-off of the cd.

I ended up receiving and paying for 2 copies when i only ordered 1. The product itself was great.

Product was delivered on the promised delivery day.
Definitely would use the Australian order fulfillment vendor again.
