Excellent new music from China,
By Lost Johnny (China) - See all my reviews
This review is from: China Chill: Urbal Essence from the Far East (Audio CD)
This collection introduces some brilliant artists not much known outside China. The most famous is Dadawa, or Zhu Zheqin, but possible the most talented is Liu Xing, avant garde composer, working in Shanghai, whose music is incomparable. The composer John Chen is well worth listening to as is the singer Yang Xiao-Lin, whose music covers several genres but is distinctively Chinese. There are also some Tibetan style songs which are very pleasant.

I am not aware of a more relaxing, thought provoking album on this planet. Listen alone or with company. This is a wonderful compelation of artists including one of the finest sopranos ever. This album will reach out to your spirit, no matter what your heritage. Ken |
