Charis Chan is an accomplished author of books about China, including Imperial China: Architectural Guide for Travelers; China: The Middle Kingdom; and China: Renaissance of the Middle Kingdom. She now lives in Dorset, England.

Neil Art, a Canadian journalist based in Hong Kong, has worked at several of the leading English-language publications in Asia.

Paul Mooney has 28 years' experience studying and working as a journalist in Asia. He moved to Beijing in 1994, beginning a career of reporting from around the country for leading publications such as Newsweek, Asiaweek and the South China Morning Post. He lives in Beijing.
