The product quilted material is very thin. I hoped for more cushion and better quality for the cost.

i recently ordered this item and was very disappointed in the cheap quality of the material and workmanship.
i ordered similar ones previously and thought i would order a different color for a different set of dishes. i now wish i had stayed with my first choice and ordered the same ones. they were listed as a deluxe quilted grey set and were beautiful.

This review is for Richards Housewares 6 piece soft quilted starter set. The company is based in Portland, OR and the product is labeled Made in China.

This set will hold the standard pieces that come with a 5-piece setting plus one serving tray. If you purchase additional pieces (bowls, accent plates, etc.) you will have to purchase additional pieces. Also, some more modern dish sets come with coffee cups in lieu of tea cups. Coffee cups will not fit in tea cup box. This storage set holds my Waterford China Kilbarry Platinum 5-Piece Place Settings perfectly.

The teacup holder requires assembly. While there are no instructions, the assembly is simple and intuitive. The thick cardboard fits around the bottom and sides, and the slotted pieces fit together to form the inner walls.

The quilting is mostly decorative. The outer cloth is "quilted" to the inner plastic liner. If there is any actual stuffing between these two sheets, it is so slight that it is hardly noticeable. Regardless, I still find the holders do a good job of storing my China.

The "plate dividers" are single-sized thin plastic sheets. They are about the size of a tea saucer and I don't think they will hold up very long. I purchased a set of Soft Felt Plate Dividers, but I don't think they were necessary. I think the original packaging from my China would have been just as good.

This storage set is great. Better and less expensive than the plastic white one I bought locally. Arrived promptly. The picture and description are very good.
