China's early contacts with Central Asia,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: China in central Asia: The early stage, 125 B.C.-A.D. 23 : an annotated translation of chapters 61 and 96 of The history of the former Han dynasty (Sinica Leidensia) (Paperback)
This is certainly the most useful book on China's early contacts with Central Asia. A well constructed and easy to follow presentation and commentary of the Han Shu text on the western regions (chapters 61 and 96). I have just replaced the photocopied parts I've been using for the last ten years with a copy of the whole book. The only shortcoming is that the authors decided not to include the Chinese text.
