Best Chinchilla Book Ever,
By
This review is from: Chinchillas: A Guide to Caring for Your Chinchilla (Complete Care Made Easy) (Paperback)
I have owned chinchillas for many years now and this is the best book that I have found. This author has put together a lot of helpful information with a little whimsy. From providing us basic knowledge of the chinchilla, to the need for exercise and proper feeding. A chinchilla is not like any pet that you will ever own and this book gets it right. It also provides a smile when you see all the great photographs that go along with the information. I love the one that has an Ebony Chinchilla and peeking out from underneath her is a little white chinchilla kit. I have had the pleasure of spending lots of time with my chinchillas and even traveling with them. I have a few chinchilla babies each year and I recommend this book to all my clients. It is well researched and a valuable resource.

A unique look at the chinchilla,
This review is from: Chinchillas: A Guide to Caring for Your Chinchilla (Complete Care Made Easy) (Paperback)
This book is a very personal look at the chinchilla. The pictures, beginning from the one on the front cover, are amazing. Anyone who owns a chinchilla knows how hard it is to get a photo of anything but a furry behind streaking by. The photographer Ellen Bellini managed to capture chinchillas doing all sorts of chichilla things: playing with toys, taking a dust bath, learning tricks, and interacting with each other and with their people. The author's love of chinchillas as sensitive, intelligent, one of a kind companion animals comes through on every page. There are chapters on all kinds of topics I haven't seen in any other book out there (and I own several): transitioning a chinchilla from ranch life to home life, a chart illustrating the chinchilla coat colors, going to a chinchilla show, determining gender, safe and dangerous food and housing, and even a dictionary of chinchilla sounds and body language. I have had my pair of chinchillas since 2005 (and with any luck will have them for another 10-15 years). This book has enabled me to more fully understand, appreciate, and enjoy them.

when I saw the page where they reccomend a ball as a run toy for your chin I was like wtf... Chinchillas should NEVER be put in one of those balls. They can overheat and get there paws stuck yet alone if they get scared and cant get out!
