The pages are translucent and can be removed after coloring. It is suggested to put them in a window to achieve a stained glass effect. But they can also be used as a pattern for larger work, such as quilting motifs or for wall murals, and yes, even stained glass! You can combine several different dragons in your own background, and since the dragons are a fairly uniform size, you can create your own dragon by taking sections from different pages. The book itself also allows you to work out the color scheme before you start your own project, which is a nice plus.
