Traditional Chinese medicine has been used for thousands of years by a largepopulation. It arose from the experiences of the Chinese people in their struggle against various diseases. Medicinal materials of plant origin constitute a key topic in the treatment of disease according to traditional Chinese medicine, and are currently still serving many ofthe health needs of the Chinese people.
