The book is basically the free Bible that most missionaries give to chinese. Good translation that has parallels. It is also good for a chinese person trying to learn english, as it has direct translation right next to Simple Chinese (which most mainland uses that also speak Common Chinese/Mandarin) which now everybody in mainland China reads, even though in some southwestern provinces that have traditionally spoken Cantonese they can use a Cantonese Bible(Traditional Characters- used in canton/Guangdong, Taiwan or Hong Kong), They all now speak Common Chinese(Mandarin) and all can read Simple Chinese characters.

Love this bible! I am just learning to read characters and the print is clear and easy to read for both languages. The print is a bit small, but if it were larger, it would make the bible too big to comfortably carry. The pages are not too thin (like some bibles). I highly recommend it!

We have an exchange student staying with us from Shanghai, and she had no Bible. I wanted to find her one that had English and Chinese side by side. There are very few to chose from and I wasn't sure what to look for. But the reviews of this Bible seemed very positive, so I ordered it. And I was very pleased and so was my exchange student. The font size is readable, and the side by side format is very easy to follow. The paper is very thin, but so our most Bibles. I liked the fact it was the NIV translation, most of the other Chinese/English Bibles I had seen available were KJV or similar. I had hoped to find her an "attractive" Bible, but barring that disappointment, this was the perfect Bible for her.

I ordered this Bible for my cousin who became a Christian recently. She loves it.

Purchased this for my mother-in-law who speaks a little English. My American Father-in-law said it is a wonderful Chinese Bible. He loves that he can read one side, or explain things to her in English.

This Bible is of good quality. I bought this for my wife who likes the bible in general but would have preferred larger print. The print is difficult to read for older eyes.

The real dimensions are much smaller than Product Dimensions: 8.9 x 6.4 x 1.7 inches.

I was very excited because we have a young woman attending our church who is Chinese. She has recently become a Christian, but she is also still learning English (she is a college exchange student). I thought the side-by-side English/Chinese Bible would help her not only read Scripture in her own language, but also compare it to English, to help her English skills. She speaks Mandarin, and the internet didn't give me much help to see what language she might READ in. This Bible was perfect. She said she could read it, and she was so excited to receive it.

can you please clarify for me whether this bible is in traditional or simplified chinese. i am looking to buy my mom a chinese/english bible. she grew up in hong kong but has been in the US for years. thanks!

I have bought a few Bilingual Bibles before, nothing is quite like this one in quality of print. First published in December 2009 by Chinese Bible International Limited, Hong Kong; with Traditional Form and English for all the contents, indices and maps, I gained so much understanding.

I love it, and would like to recommend to everyone even if you are just a English reader.
