Chinese English New Testament of the Bible-Simplified Script

This Bible arrived in a very timely manner, was in the condition described, or better than expected. I would definitely use this supplier in the future. I always seek this particular Bible because of its easy to understand language. Two Chinese/American people that we have been working with here in America have become Christians through the help of this Bible. The "Good News Bible" is one of the easiest to understand translations that is written.

To my knowledge, this is the most readable translation in Simplified script. The Chinese Church only trusts the Union Translation, but Chinese from the People's Republic of China generally find it easier to understand the NIV in English over the Union Translation in Simplified Script. This is a great seeker friendly translation. The Union is a great Chinese translation, but still would be inferior to the King James Bible translation in readability, accuracy and literary quality. The objection I have heard to this translation is the use in some places (ie Rev. 1:5 and Rev. 5:9) of "sacrificial death" as an explanation of "blood".
Chinese in Taiwan (but not Singapore) use the traditional script. When Mao came to power, he simplified the way Chinese was written in order to promote literacy. PRC scholars might be able to read the traditional script, but they are more accustomed to the Simplified Script. Simplified Script and Traditional Script are the same for every Chinese dialect, since the script is not phonetic in nature.
