I must say that the flute itself is beautful to look at, after that, there is really nothing musical about this. I am a music student, and I got this for a presentation in class about cultures and what not. One of my frieds has a bamboo flute, that is very simiral to this and sounds fantastic, so I though, gReat! a jade flute will add looks and novelty to the class. And yes, it does add some looks, but the sound is rather poor. The packaging wasn't too great, and when I got the flute it had chipped in a few places. and now, the important part, THE SOUND. It's terrible. To obtain good sound the wholes must be very even and soft. the wholes in this flute are rough and uneven. there is some sound, but it is not loud and the tone isn't clear. I've had several professional flautist from our orchestra look at it, and none of them were able to come up with a good sound (although they improoved vastly on my own sound)
once again, no good sound, good looks, yes.
