Chinese Laundry Women's Newbie Suede Boot

I ordered these in black because I really like the way they looked in the photo. After sifting though dozens of suede boots, I thought this would work for me. The "PROS": They do fit true to size. The suede is a decent quality (no bad markings or wear). They are lined. The "CONS": While the foot length is good, there seemed to be a lot of extra room at the front of the ankle (where the two straps cross). I have relatively thin legs and they seemed too "baggy" and casual of a look for me. I think these boots would be great for someone who has a hard time finding boots larger in the ankle area. Another option would be to fit them with insoles (as the soles are really thin and kind-of hard). As for me, I am returning them and looking for something else.

The quality of the boot is okay and its true to shoe size, the problem is that it looks like a pirates boot. The part that would fit your calf is about 50% too wide. Don't waste your $. I am Very disappointed I will be returning these.

These boots are amazing. Stylish and easy to pull on. The leather is incredibly soft and can be pushed down to make a shorter version. I'm so happy I found these and would definitely recommend them. Also, have had complements galore.

I saw these boots online and had to get them - they were adorable! I have had them now for about 6 months, and I wear them almost every day.

PROS:
Cute boots, great detail
Waterproof!
Kinda warm (don't need to cook, I live in San Diego!)
Fits true to size, maybe a tad bit big (I'm a 7.5, and they fit with enough room for socks)
Shaft wide enough for any leg, but elastic at the back will hold them up no matter what

CONS:
CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP! Leather is really thin.
Poor workmanship. If you look under the strap details, the leather is poorly put together
Scuff REALLY easy and the scuffs are really obvious
Really thin sole - if you step on a big rock, you can feel it.
No arch support whatsoever

I specifically wanted a boot with a low heel or no heel that would fit my wide calves. This boot definitely fit the bill. I would prefer that it had a zipper instead of simply sliding on, but that's just a personal preference thing. (I also wish they were a little smoother, but still - they look fantastic on!) I've received numerous compliments on it's look! I'm not a fan of the over-the-knee look (being petite already, I hardly need something that accentuates my short stature), so the height of these boots just below the knee is perfect.

This is great for those with big calves. I'm 5'8 and struggle to find boots that fit my calf but these go over skinny jeans perfectly with room to spare. The only problem I had was that it seemed too big in the ankle, but this was such a slight concern when compared to the overall satisfaction. I know these aren't "snow" boots, but I do wish there was a bit more traction on the bottom. Nice feel, cute.

wore them almost every day on my trip to Houston,to the beach with jeansinside,to the stores with long skirt and dinner with shirt.Love them.I'm 66 and 5'5",wear a 7 1/2 or 8. got 8 so i could wear socks and they are perfect.

These boots are so beautiful! I got the black ones, which are NOT suede. They are made from very soft leather. I got a 7 1/2 and normally wear a size 8, and they fit perfectly. Like other reviewers said, they do have some room at the ankle, which I appreciate when wearing skinny jeans. I'm so excited to wear these out on date night!

These boots are much nicer in person than in the picture. They are soft suede and can be scrunched down for a different look. I am usually between an 8 and 8 1/2 and can say I should have got an 8. But they will be fine with thick socks. I recommend spraying them with a suede and leather spray.

After reading all the other reviews I was a little hesitant to order these but I am glad I did. They are very nice quality suede, soft and comfortable. I did order 1/2 size smaller because these are a slip on style boot with no zipper and tend to run big. The 1/2 size down fits perfectly. The top of the boot is not too big but big enough to comfortably Fit over skinny jeans. I was worried they would be horribly wide at the top but they are not at all. I have average legs, not too skinny not to big. Overall these were an excellent value and a great boot for fall!
