Good for the small jobs
Use for the little jobs while cooking. More flavor and essential oils are released if herbs are crushed before cooking, so use this product to crush herbs so that the flavor gets into the food while it's cooking.

I don't know...
I don't know if the product was any good or not? It arrived broken because of childlike packaging. You can't ship a breakable, porcelain mortar and pestle with a sheet of bubble wrap and no tape or fasteners to keep it from smashing about! I had been warned of this in another 'review' of the product, but took a chance anyway. Wrong...
