When you combine the leading scholar in the field of Chinese Propaganda posters from the mid-1930s to the present and combine that with the best and most comprehensive archive in the western hemisphere of such materials, of course one comes up with a blockbuster book that follows as an ideal companion to Stefan Landberger's earlier pioneer study of 1995. The quality of reproduction is excellent, the accompanying texts and translations of poster captions from the Chinese in two languages, it is both a feast for the eyes and a history lesson on modern China.
