5.0 out of 5 stars chippewa's are great
I bought these boots for my husband for Christmas because my ex husband was hard on boots & Chippewa were the only ones that held up for him. Ny husband loves them. He said they are the most comfortable boot he has ever owned.

The pair of Chippewa boots that I received today were made in China, and parts that were leather on my old pair are now either vinyl or padded cloth. My older pair were made in the USA.

This new leather boot is much stiffer and unforgiving for the foot because of the man made vinyl and padded cloth materials on the inside of the boot, and I don't see how you can "break" them in, as you would do if the interior of the boot was leather.

I don't care much for the soft "rubber" trim at the top of the boot either. This is a wear point for many of my work boots, and this part will split, wear out and fall apart quickly. The reinforced leather trim on my "made in USA pair" split after many years of heavy use, but never wore out. I would have the old boots repaired by Chippewa, but at a cost of $90.00, plus the cost of shipping both ways, it really isn't worth it.

These new Chippewa boots are also not true as to size. I ordered a 12 medium and this pair I received is more like a 13 E (wide) even though the size printed on the inside of the tongue does say 12 M. I had to slip on a double pair of hikers socks for the boot to fit.

No more "mail order" for me on shoes or boots, since it seems that many brands presently being made have manufacturing mistakes that can only be seen in person.

Being in the military I know the importance of having great fitting footwear. There are military boots I'v worn for years that I'll never replace but unfortunately getting back into the civilian workforce there are some criterias my boots needs to have to work safely in an environmental industrial field. One is steeltoes. I have tried numerous types that I won't name (still good boots but not for me) and usually the problem is the fitment and the steeltoe itself.

All I can say is that this pair of boots fits like a glove. Usually with steeltoes the problem I have is either the toes r too tight or too wide and the steel itself digs into the top of my feet. These doesn't. I barely feel the steeltoe. The inside is nicely cushioned and hugs your feet nicely. The soles have great traction. Walking through wet floors, mud, dirt, etc. is cake. It also has good ankle support. Nice and firm.

Only thing I can think of that is somewhat of a downer is that these boots are a bit heavy. That's not a big problem, though, coz after a day or two you'll be used to the weight.

This is my first pair of Chippewa boots and so far since I've had it for over a month it has been good. I sometimes just wear it when going out not just for work(with a good cleaning of course). All in all, its a great pair. I will be buying again when the time comes!!

5.0 out of 5 stars best boots ever made, December 14, 2011

The title says it all. I looove these boots! Very nice looking, comfortable and high quality. Also the heel is tall enough to give a little height boost, but not so tall that you feel uncomfortable on them. Pros - everything about them. Cons - none.

This review is from: Chippewa Men's 8" Industrial Steel Toe Logger Boot (Apparel)
I purchased these for my husband and although I usually do not buy footwear online due to sizing differences, I took the risk anyway. Pleased I did. When they arrived they were MUCH nicer than I had imagined and fit my husband perfectly. Very happy with purchase.

I got these boots for my husband who is constantly out on job sites, walking through who-knows-what, and also climbing ladders and poles. He has worn the same two pairs of boots from when he was military for the past 4 years! So, although I was very skeptical and worried that he wouldn't like them, I got these boots. Surprise!! He loves them! He says they are extremely comfortable, supportive, and he really likes the color and texture of the leather. Great boots! Thanks!

I have never owned Chippewa boots before, but I would definitely buy them again.

These are great boots! The finish is "scuffy", similar to the blonde construction boots, only this is more of a golden fawn color. The tongue is thickly padded, as is the collar of the boot. The bottom part is a standard lacing system, while the shaft of the boot has speed lacing, so you can have different tensions on your foot and ankle, should you so choose.

I also like the fact that this boot has a bit of a rise to it as opposed to the usual flat design of most boots. The sole is "clunky" in appearance but the boots are definitely not clunky to wear; I can walk as quietly in these as I do in a pair of sneakers.

I absolutely love these boots, and even though this is only the second day I've worn them, I have already received compliments on what a nice looking boot they are.
I would recommend these to anyone.

My son wears a very large width boot and this one meets that criteria. He wears his boots everyday ~ he is in farming, and we have been buying boots every 3 mos. These we purchased about 6 weeks ago and so far they are holding up beautifully! Excellent quality boot.
