They're comfortable right out of the box and fit true to size.
Well made in the USA, great boots, great fit and lots of complements.
As far as the comfort goes, right out of the box they were comfortable, unlike a great many leather boots.

I've only had these boots a couple of days now but right out of the box they are very comfy with a soft insole already built into the boot. Although, I have gotten one blister but that is almost to be expected with any pair of real leather boots (even my redwings I got blisters). The boot looks very well made and I'm very happy with my purchase. The boots are actually lighter then I originally anticipated and that appears to be because they have "Gumlight Vibram" bottoms which by reading Vibrams website they are drastically lighter but have all the great wear characteristics of real rubber. I would also like to mention the picture above the boots look alot darker in color then what is actually delivered. End the end I'm quite happy with the boots.

Size: Bought a half-size down from my sneaker size, and they fit really well. I was tempted to buy a full size down, but I'm glad I didn't.

Comfort: Holy crap these are comfortable. The insole is ok, but I think the sole really makes a difference, you could easily walk around on concrete all day. Walking around these feel more like athletic sneakers than work boots. When ordering, I had actually considered taking them and having a nicer looking cork or leather sole put on, but quickly changed my mind after walking on the Gumlite sole for a week.

Shape: I love the shape, the sole is thicker than a dress shoe, but not the normal clunky sole that typically adorn steel toe boots. The toe is, I'd say, medium sized. It looks bigger than a dress shoe, but nobody is going to be able to tell you're wearing a steel toe.

Leather: The color is very close to what the pictures on amazon show. I treated mine with two very light coats of Obenauf's LP, which darkened the leather slightly, but should help protect the leather from the elements. The leather is pretty thick, but soft, which makes them comfortable and I expect them to gain some wrinkles and creases as they break in.

Quality: The leather is thick and should take years of abuse. Most of the seams are double or triple stitched, the Goodyear welt should hold up to quite a bit of abuse, but only time will tell. There were a couple really small knicks in the leather on the toe, but other than that they arrived flawless. Rubber sole is perfectly lined up to the welt and is glued on tight.

Other: The laces are waxed and stiff, they match the boots well, but are otherwise unremarkable. The lace hooks and eyelets look better in person than in the photos.

I consistently where a 10.5 in about 3-4 different shoe companies and by measure my foot is a true 10.5. These boots are about a size or half size to big. They are comfortable and stylish though. I also must complain that the color is quite a lighter brown than the picture shown on here. I thought they were going to be a nice dark brown but they're really just a normal brown color.

This shoe requires very little in the "break-in" department. For those who like a great lace up work boot that feels comfortable from the word go, this is the boot for you. I have had a few pairs of these with great success. I purchased the "EE" width because of the extra wide feet I have, but fits like a glove. I would highly rececomend these to anyone on their feet all day or if you just want a comfortable boot to wear for work or play. Made in USA.

I watched the price drop on these boots for a month or so and when they were $92 bucks, I bought them. I was so pleased about getting a deal on American handmade boots that I didn't care if they were steel toe or not. They are a little stiff, but feel good on my feet. I liked these so much that I saw the 8", non-steel toe style on sale for $84 bucks and bought them too. Both are seconds, but I can't find the flaws. They take some break in but once they are loosened up, there sweet. Now that you know, I probably won't be able to get another pair at these prices, when I need them...in 5 years. I plan on wearing them to death, then get them resoled and wearing them to death again. Thanks Amazon.

A year later: The 6" ST boots are good but the 8" boots are great. Sprained an ankle and had to press the 8" boots into action. These are the best boots I've ever trashed. Comfort, support, protection, warmth, traction and with some Sno-Seal, totally water proof. I should have bought another pair. Damn.

I bought these for two reasons: to serve me well in my lawn care job and to look great. They fulfill both.

Other guys I work with tend to buy $30-$50 shoes and shoes are truly one of those things where investing more now saves you money in the long term. One of my coworkers has holes in the toes of his boots after only three months. I'm not sure, couldn't tell, if they were steel-toe and only the corrected grain leather on top wore through, or if they aren't steel toe and wore through the whole way. Either way, my Chippewas have not even begun to wear through the leather, anywhere. Insofar as the materials themselves, these boots have completely held up. The only serious wear was to be expected: the vibram soles wore down on one-side, so my pronation was tilted. But I drive the truck all day for 11 to 16 hours depending on the time of year, and rotating a rubber heel constantly is bound to wear it down with time. But I got it replaced for 68 dollars. The rubber sole is wonderful--it has enough ridges to keep you secure on surfaces, but not deep enough ridges that s*** gets stuck in them (literally--lawncare involves frequently walking in dogs***).

As far as the comfort goes, right out of the box they were comfortable, unlike a great many leather boots. The quality of the materials is great. Seemingly no wear or loss of strength in the laces, the tongues have gotten crinkled but are strong as ever, the steel does make them heavier and thus harsher on my somewhat bad knees, but not enough that it is a serious issue. This I guess would be the one drawback, but is true of any steel toe boot, so cannot be counted as a drawback of this boot. There's a little more stress on the knees because your knee has more pressure on pivoting, lifting and moving the metal in the shoe.
