All Win and No Lose......, October 18, 2009
This boot is all good. There are no cons. It is solid, warm, fits great and feels awesome on the inside. The leather is high quality. The insulation works. It is actually waterproof (the leather under the tongue connects with the boot so there is no open slots for water to go through. I love it.
I have size 13 EE feet that are totally flat and this boot fit great. If you have big feet don't hold back, go for it. If you have small feet, go for it too, just order the D model instead of the EE model. This shoe is quality all the way. And it is even made in the USA, which is always nice.
It seems like the kind of solid boot that you will own and wear for a decade or more. Its the kind of boot that you will replace the soles on when they wear out. It isn't a cheap piece of junk like most of the "hiking" boots that are on the market today which are not designed to last. This boot is designed to last.
I give it 5 stars.

Absolute top quality Made in USA Chippewa boot, October 18, 2010
This review is from: Chippewa Men's 6" Waterproof Insulated Arctic 25493 50 Boot (Apparel)
Just a few sizes left on these boots and I was lucky enough to get a pair. I'm a girl and wear a womens size 8 US but have E width feet and normally have a very difficult time finding quality footwear. This time I lucked out as these in the mens 6 EEE fit me like a glove. Was pretty sure they would since I have a pair of a Chippewa work boots. First, these boots arrived two days before the estimated delivery date. Double thumbs up for super fast shipping from Amazon! Second, these boots are totally awesome! These are my second pair of Chippewa boots as noted above. These boots were comfortable right out of the box and the though it's not cold out yet here in New England, I can see that these are going to keep my feet warm, dry, and happy for many winters to come! Over the years I've worn Timberland and Wolverine but the quality of those brands doesn't even come close to Chippewa. If you're thinking of buying these and they have your size don't hesitate, grab em before someone else does. I strongly recommend going with the EEE if you normally wear an E because the shearling lining is thick so don't worry the triple E won't be too wide. Long story short, these Chippewas are everything that the description claims. Note that not all Chippewa boot models are made here but the Arctic 50 model is made in the USA. Chippewa tough, I won't buy another brand boot again if I can find what I need in this brand. Made is US is important to me and I know it's important to many others.

Five stars for the Arctic 50's, February 11, 2011
Chippewa 6" Arctic 50 boots: Super warm even in zero-ish weather, and water proof. Exceptionally rugged construction, there is no way I will ever wear out these boots in my lifetime. And importantly (to me, anyway), this model boot is made in USA, which is a rarity these days. This is my 5th pair of USA Chippewa boots, and I'm still wearing 4 of them. I bought my first Chippewa's in 1977, a pair of Arctic 40's. But they were stolen, or I'd probably still be wearing them. My two pairs of motorcycle boots are the finest I've ever seen. And I have a pair of SWAT boots that I bought in 1984, and they still look great. Chippewa offers many styles of boots, some made in USA, and others made in China. The USA-made ones will have a little metal USA flag attatched to the laces, near the bottom. Without that little USA ornament, they will likely be made in China. On the Chippewa website you can see which models are USA made, as well. I got my Arctic 50's thru Amazon on clearance sale for $150, via one of their independant vendors. MSRP is $265. Prompt delivery and good communication. Highly recomended. One thing about the Arctic 50's....they are SERIOUSLY WARM! For me, any temp above 35*F is too warm outside to wear these boots. But for the nasty cold stuff, the Arctic 50's are the real deal.
