2.0 out of 5 stars Chinese Chippewa's should be called Chinawa's, December 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I wear a true size 9EE. I have other boots from American manufacturers that are size 9EE. I ordered these boots from Chippewa thinking they were made in the USA and were a true size 9EE. They were not made in the USA and they are not a true size 9EE.
There are some Chippewa boots made in the USA and they should remain Chippewa's, but those made in China should be called Chinawa's. That way, the person ordering them will know that they are not made in the USA and if they still want them, to order them 1 1/2 sizes larger.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sole Separation on well-cared for boots........, June 11, 2011

This review is from: Chippewa Men's 8" Waterproof Insulated Steel Toe Logger (Apparel)
I have purchased these for some years, they are good for my back with the support they afford. I have had problems with the soles beginning to separate when the sole is still as good as new and the upper leather is still all in good condition (NOT ABUSED IN ANY WAY)! I returned them several times and the store is getting sick of seeing me coming. I have a Peet Boot Drier which I set the boots onto and it allows a small amount of heat to rise into the toe of the boot and flow out of the boot (less than a small light bulb worth of heat flow). Since my feet perspire a lot, I use the drier so I am putting on dry boots when I go to wear them. I don't recall having this problem when the boots were made in this country, however I began having the problem after they began making them in China! I pay about $185. for my boots, purchased locally! I don't mind spending that money when the product performs as it should and does not fail! I get quite annoyed when the soles begin separating when the boot itself and the sole are still almost like NEW!
