I have purchased these for some years, they are good for my back with the support they afford. I have had problems with the soles beginning to separate when the sole is still as good as new and the upper leather is still all in good condition (NOT ABUSED IN ANY WAY)! I returned them several times and the store is getting sick of seeing me coming. I have a Peet Boot Drier which I set the boots onto and it allows a small amount of heat to rise into the toe of the boot and flow out of the boot (less than a small light bulb worth of heat flow). Since my feet perspire a lot, I use the drier so I am putting on dry boots when I go to wear them. I don't recall having this problem when the boots were made in this country, however I began having the problem after they began making them in China! I pay about $185. for my boots, purchased locally! I don't mind spending that money when the product performs as it should and does not fail! I get quite annoyed when the soles begin separating when the boot itself and the sole are still almost like NEW!

Never owned Chippy's before. Always been too cheap to make the jump to these. I wear tactical style boots for work because that's what my department provides. At home I finally got sick enough of freezing my feet when cutting and splitting wood. So when I actually laced up a pair I was sold. These are the best feeling/fitting boots out of the box that I have ever owned, including non-steel toe! Can't wait until they're broken in. I guess you do get what you pay for. That being said, I will NEVER buy them again as they are assembled overseas. From what I understand, the soles are made a few towns over from here and then shipped overseas. Poor form, Chippewa, poor form. Very difficult to rate; the boot is fantastic, but the manufacturer is junk.

I really like these new boots and will be using them for military service (with a few changes --blackening out the leather sole, brass eyelets and logo).

These were a replacement order for a pair that I accidentally purchased to small. The replacement arrived only 4 days after the request for replacement was made, very quick turnaround time!

Thank you for shipping to an FPO address, not everyone does, those that do deserve to be acknowledged.

I used these boots for about 6 months and went back to my standard GI issue boots. I found that these boots are very heavy and after long days of being on my feet my feet, legs and back were achy and tired. When I switched back to my standard boots my feet, legs and back felt much better while still doing the same job. I'm not saying that they are bad boots, but maybe that they were not the right boots for the job I do.

Bought these boots because the online price was better than the local store price. What a mistake I thought I was getting a good quality boot by buying Chippewa brand. The shipping was two days past expected (not a big deal.) the boots seemed okay at first look but when I laced them up for the very first time, three of the lace hooks fell off. I called Chippewa and was told to contact the seller. I contacted the seller and was told to contact Chippewa. This went back and forth for two rounds and finally gave up. I fixed the boots myself and they worked well for a week or so. The soles started to split and separate after just a week!!! Waterproofing in mild snow was a joke. Worst experience I've ever had with Chippewa or amazon sellers. Truly a disappointment. Needless to say, I'm back shopping locally for shoes and boots.

I owned the boots for no longer than 3 months doing typical work outside and the sole ripped from the leather on the inside heel of one of the boots. I then took it to a renowned leather repair shop only to be laughed at and told I had been ripped off. The boot was irreparable because whomever made it (Im questioning whether it was actually Chippewa now) didn't even use enough leather or fabric on the inside heel for it to have lasted long at all.

the hide between the boot and the rubber has many flaps sticking off, thread poking through and a split spot on the front. I like the boots but I thought the best by far would be perfect not looking like a factory second.
