4.0 out of 5 stars Smokier please....
Expected a deeper, smokier tone to this paprika than I got. Deserves praise for not being bitter (burnt) in processing, which some pimenton exhibit. Taste is delightful, but if you specifically want rich smoky nose to your paprika, try another.

3.0 out of 5 stars Smoked Paprika
The product was exactly what I wanted, however I was surprised by the shipping/handling charge that was more than the product cost...Not a nice surprise..I would have liked to known this before I ordered...

5.0 out of 5 stars we love smoked paprika, February 27, 2008
This review is from: Chiquilin Smoked Paprika Tin 2.64oz (Misc.)
This stuff is great. I put it everything but dessert. It really kicked up a mushroom and onion gravy we put on cube steaks. Plus, don't forget what it does for paella, the reason I bought it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smoke and Savor, July 6, 2010

This is great stuff. Since buying it two years ago it has become a necessary ingredient in so many dishes. Chiquilin brand has a refined flavor, smoky with no hint of being burnt. I noticed a bit of a burnt flavor in some other brands. It does not add heat like some pepper however. I use it in such things as sauteed vegies which I want to add a grilled flavor to, humus where it add a nice smokiness, and pan-frying tofu (I'm vegetarian). It can even add a grilled/outdoor flavor to your salads when used in a vinaigrette dressing.

Use it in casseroles, stews, soups and rubs for your meat. Use it everywhere except your coffee. So glad I bought it. It's fantastic.

I'm so glad I found out about "smoked" paprika. It really enhances so many dishes -- and I hadn't even heard of it until a couple of months ago (thanks Food Network!) The quality is excellent and I will be ordering this again!

I bought this for a recipe. It lent a smoky, tasty, indefinable essence. So much so I sneak it into every savory dish. It never fails to elicit comments like, "This is delicious! What did you put in this?" But I'm not telling. My secret go-to ingridient for savory dishes, rubs, and gravies. No wonder why Ilan from Top Chef put paprika into everything. Although the reviewer who suggested desserts had me thinking, "Hmmm?" I'm hooked.

5.0 out of 5 stars This smoked paprika is supurb!, October 28, 2011

If you want a super smoked paprika, this is the one! Far better than regular "paprika" you find in the grocery store or even the "Spanish paprika" you find in some of the better stores, but if you like a smooth, smoky, mild flavor, this is it, folks! Excellent in all recipes we have tried, and really yummy on deviled eggs. I recommend it highly!--Bob

5.0 out of 5 stars Best paprika, October 25, 2011
This review is from: Chiquilin Smoked Paprika Tin 2.64oz (Misc.)
This wonderful pimentón comes from La Vera region of Spain where five varieties of peppers are grown. Two of the varieties are sweet, the other three have a more piquant quality.

The peppers are dehydrated and smoked using traditional techniques, a process that imparts the final product a unique flavor.

If the tin doesn't say "dulce" (sweet) the paprika will have a stronger and spicier taste, perfect for dishes such as chili.

The paprika "dulce" adds a delightful flavor to tomato sauces, stews, rice pilafs, and any dish containing peppers or eggplants.

Only buy smoked paprika in tins with a denomination of origin (D.O.) from "La Vera" or "Murcia."

Tip: All Spanish smoked paprikas have a much more pronounced flavor. If you've never used them before, start with about half as much as what your recipe calls for.

Be careful not to burn this paprika because it will turn bitter very quickly and ruin your dish. To avoid that, always make sure that there's enough fat/oil in the pan when sauteing.

I expected to get a smokey taste in foods when using the product. I did not expect to get such a rich, flavorful and full bodied taste and aroma from using so little of this in my cooking. Smoked paprika and the unsmoked variety are red-haired siblings raised in different cultures. The similarities are only visual. The performance of this brand of smoked paprika is amazing. No need to use another brand. I couldn't take the disappointment. Plus, you won't use regular paprika again.
