5.0 out of 5 stars Yuri = Girl Love <3
In all of my time as a Yuri fan, I have never read a manga that encompassed 'girl-love' the way Chirality does. Chirality is a four-book series that has been translated and distributed by CPM Manga. It was written by Satoshi Urushihara and is truly a gift from the Yuri goddess.

3.0 out of 5 stars HOT CHICKS IN SPACESUITS
CHIRALITY may be kinda hard to follow at times, but the art by Satoshi Urushihara kept me turning the pages until the very end.

Urishihara's grasp of the female form is second to none, and to say that I didn't have a lecherous thought or two while the cast took me on their intergalactic adventures would be nothing less than misleading.

All in...

5.0 out of 5 stars Yuri = Girl Love <3, April 22, 2009
This review is from: Chirality; To the Promised Land, Book 1 (Paperback)
In all of my time as a Yuri fan, I have never read a manga that encompassed 'girl-love' the way Chirality does. Chirality is a four-book series that has been translated and distributed by CPM Manga. It was written by Satoshi Urushihara and is truly a gift from the Yuri goddess.

Firstly, this manga contains adult content. The sexual activity gets pretty graphic (yay!) especially in the third and fourth book. Also, the female characters are naked most of the series.

With that said. . . Chirality is the story of a group of humans living in the distant future. The world has gone to hell and is infested with evil robots. The main character's name is Shiori - she is a young girl who lives with her brother and their group of friends. She's been given the task to save mankind from the infestation by locating the 'Gaia Computer' which will wipe out all the robots. Along the way, she meets a mysterious (and beautiful) woman named Carol. Carol isn't human or machine, but appears to be conscience and capable of emotion. Carol is super strong, can fly, and makes me swoon. It seems she knows Shiori (but from where?!) and is hell-bent on protecting her.

The relationship that develops between Shiori and Carol is COMPLETELY cannon. One interesting point is that Carol can shape shift - and she has a male form. When in her male form, she is stronger and more potent in battle. However, both Carol and Shiori dislike the male form and prefer Carol as a female.

Chirality is full of fan-service but is presented in a way that didn't bother me. I found the series enticing and entertaining. I felt that the sexual material was balanced by an obvious, monogamous love. The story line itself was interesting as well. There is even a heterosexual love story on the side, but the true star of the series is Carol x Shiori. There are also a few `chibi' mini-chapters that are adorable and sure to please.

This manga is probably my all-time favorite.

I give it 5/5 - it is a MUST READ for any Yuri/Shoujo-ai fan.

Okay it's a comic so not really expecting it to go on forever. Can't say that the plot development was as good as it could have been if it was a novel like thing. BUT... I wish it was. It's a fantastically wonderful story. Don't let reviews on other sites fool you, it's not mostly geared to boys. It's not hentai, and no there aren't nakey pictures of women every other page. Honestly this is a well done piece of work and was well worth buying. It's one of the few lesbian items I've seen that were actually touching and well thought out. Most is either porn, or just people using the concept of two girls kissing to sell more books. But anyway, it's really nice, so if you're into lesbian stories, sci-fi and a shape shifting girl then give this a go. It's not T&A, nor is it little women, but like most other things, you don't want a good thing to end.

All in all, CHIRALITY is goofy and fun, but it's the incredible art that will get me to check out Book 2.
