Good Ideas within a "Poor Mentality" Base,

This book is full of interesting material, on how to develop the practice, the ethics... However I was a little disappointed by the "poor mentality" expressed by the authors; they often relate to the lack of money and how they're always trying to get the cheapest and avoid expenses. I agree that it's important to look carefully over money matters, and that money is much more easily spent than it is owned, but I believe we can be very successful with an abundance mentality. Nevertheless, this is a book I recommend, filtering through the information that make most sense for each reader.

He gives examples of living on a budget and that's about it. There is no meat to this book. Had I paid 15 dollars for it, I wouldn't complain. But I didn't. I expected detailed information on superbilling, marketing, what to say when asked about insurance, etc. In one chapter about bookkeeping, the author suggests a CPA. This type of common sense is what you'll will get a lot of when you read this book.

I heard Dr.Abblett speak at a seminar I attended while I was in chiropractic school and was inspired. I then found his book at my college library and read it once. I then bought my own copy and read it six different times. There is no lack mentality in this book at all. In fact, it is a book about shifting one's paradigm from the "insurance lack consciousness" to a new paradigm of "prosperous and abundant cash practice" consciousness. This book gives you the skill set to give your chiropractic practice real value independent of what the insurance companies tell you what you are worth. I built a cash practice from scratch using the principles laid out in this book and within 3 years I was running the most successful chiropractic practice in my town(BTW, I graduated in 2007). I recently sold my practice to a doctor who has been practicing for 30 years because I was moving out of state and he told me that he had never seen the success that I had achieved in such a short amount of time. I thank Dr. Abblett for that success and for publishing a book which makes building a successful cash practice not only obtainable, but easy to understand and personable. This was the best investment I made when it came to the business of running a successful practice. Dr. Abblett and his wife Terry were available any time I had any questions and were totally committed to my success at no extra charge. This book is a steal and highly highly recommended in a time when there is so much confusion about how to structure a successful cash practice and saying, "Hell NO!" to the insurance mafia!!!
