4.0 out of 5 stars Chloe Zoe March 23, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read this with my niece and I kept pretending that I didn't see the animals collecting in the background. The more I pretended to not see them the funnier the book was to Macy. We played a game of guessing which animal Chloe would try and stuff in the hole next! The worm hole ending was kind of anticlimactic for Macy and it was a great opportunity to probe her imagination and let her come up with a ending that she liked. Macy can read the book on my laptop anytime she wants and that is great too. She loves all the books by Michael Wills and can't wait for me to purchase another! Great work!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Childrens Book! March 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really liked this book, it made me laugh and I dont know who enjoyed it more, me or my son haha. Very colorful and I like how the author Michael Wills used a variety of animals. Children can use there imaginations in this book because there gonna be excited to know where all these animals went. I know my son was like "I wonder where they went mama" until the end and then he laughed like crazy. So he enjoyed this book very much and so did I. Very well illustrated and written. I cant think of one bad thing about this book cuz there isnt any, we love it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cool concept March 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
As with all of Michael Willis' books, this was very enjoyable for both me and my 7-year old nephew.

He liked the idea of a hole where things disappeared and laughed when all the animals started showing up in other places. He was a little confused by the wording used to throw the animals into the hole, but with some explanation, he quickly understood and I think it was a good learning lesson for new vocabulary.

The only thing that he didn't like was the picture of the worm at the end because it wasn't something that he had seen before. I think it was interesting and I understood it because it was dressed up as Einstein, but it was probably too complicated for a second grader.

Overall, though, cool book and good to introduce kids to the idea of black holes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Simple with good vocabulary words March 7, 2013
By Jo
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have read some of Michael Wills' other books and although this is definitely very different from his "animals" books, I could definitely tell it was by the same author. The point of the book is more about vocabulary building than a 'story' per-say, but it is still colorful, fun, and cute. It leaves an open door for a lot of further discussion with young children. Again, more of a 'read-to-your-young-children' than an 'early reader.'

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightfully Entertaining March 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
My 5-year-old son and I just finished reading Chloe Zoe and the Very Odd Hole, and we both thought it was a fun read. He figured out the mystery just before it was revealed, and thought the little hints on each page were very funny. I didn't expect him to get the wormhole joke, but he surprised me by laughing hysterically as soon as I read it!

This book was a quick read that made a great addition to our bedtime stories, and my son really enjoyed the interesting things that Chloe Zoe tried in determining where the very odd hole went. Despite the excitement of video games being played by his older brother in the same room, Isaiah's attention was locked on the story and how strong Chloe Zoe must be to carry around such large creatures.

This is another 5 star read among the many that we have read from Michael Wills. Thanks for the great read, and here's to many more!

4.0 out of 5 stars Clever! March 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Chloe and Zoe is a great children's book which allows the child to be imaginative, learn different characters and adjectives. The illustrations are creative, especially as Chloe continues her adventures and is perplexed at the outcomes. Definitely a good book to read to kids.
