My Dad (85) has congestive heart failure, since 2001, when he had a quad by pass and a defribrillator was put in a year ago. The hypertention was just barely controlled with 2 heart medicines & a water pill. His pulse stayed around 50 and might go up to 60 when he exercised. 6 weeks ago, I put Dad on Chlorella & Spirulina, after reading articles about them, to help with neuropathies (Shingles, Bells Palsy, & Polyneuromyositis). The neuropathies had flared up and he was put on prednisone, which made him pre-diabetic. Now, he does not take any hypertention medicine and his blood sugar is normal. His B/P runs around 120/70 with a pulse of 80.

I, take it for my allergies/sinuses, and it's definitely helping. Also, I have more energy. Both products are considered to be whole foods. They have trace minerals, that normally can't be found in a multiple vitamin. Just Google them and you will find how many dis-eases they cure or fight. They definitely strengthen the entire body. I, also, have Reynald's Syndrome, which is a neuropathy, and it's getting better. Written 2/26/09

Here in Thailand it often happens that we in the food also are getting some algae. I've always known that the algae's are healthy and that they especially are eating by many Japanese, and in Japan we are having the longest average living age in the World. But now after having finished reading this small book I have furthermore learned that not all algae's are quite alike, and which one is the best. As we read on the side 46, the Chlorella, compared to 2 other algae, contains up to 10 times more Chlorophyll than the Spirulina and 20 times more than the Blue Green Algae.

So I'll in the pharmacy ask if they are having these in the book mentioned pills containing Chlorella, especial for, in case so, then trying to see if they can help my wife concerning her pain problem in the hands coursed by arthritis.

Concerning the Chlorophyll, which I mentioned above in line 6, we in the small book learn that Chlorella have got this name by being were close to Chlorophyll because it is containing extremely much of the Chlorophyll (later more). Besides we among other also learn that the Chlorella helps in cleaning the bloodstream and lowering the Cholesterol number. As a side remark: what most doctors still don't know, or realize, is that the problem concerning the Cholesterol more has to do with a missing cleaning in the bloodstream which by then possibly resulting oxidation in the arteries which helps LDL (the bad part of the cholesterol) to start doing harm, and not depending of how high the total Cholesterol number or the LDL is. Remember the long living Japanese.

And on side 23 we get 2 interesting molecule drawings showing the close connection between the Red Blood Cell and the Chlorophyll.

This is a very small handbook (pamphlet size book) with only 52 pages that includes the Table of Contents and References on 5.5" X 8.25" pages. However, even though this book is small, it has an abundant amount of good information in it, including a long list of ailments that chlorella may help alleviate. And, it is easy to read. I have been taking Nature's Sunshine Chlorophyll for a couple of years and it has helped me with digestive problems, so I know it works in that area. I also have diabetes, and so far I have been able to control it by diet and supplements. Knock on Wood. According to this little jewel of a book, chlorella also helps to stablize blood sugar, blood pressure and purifies the body (perhaps this has helped to keep my blood sugar under control too). This is very important for diabetics because they are at risk of kidney & heart failure, as well as burning up the pancreas; but, it is also important for everyone who wants to enhance their health and prevent disease. I definitely will keep this little book close at hand as it is chock full of good information. The author, Beth M. Ley, is a Ph.D, who is also a nutritionist. You may want to look at some of her other books too. One is "Recipes for Life" which I am going to order. All of her books look interesting. I am so impressed with "Chlorella", and if I like her "Recipes for Life" as well, I will most likely end up ordering her other books also. I especially like this book because it is not bulky an loaded down with technical jargon that gets boring. She gets right down to the facts, short and sweet. As mentioned above, it is so easy to read and I will use as a reference book. Hope this review helps.
